Approximately 1.5 hours north of Auckland, Goat Island Marine Reserve is located on Goat Island Road, in Leigh.
For those driving to the reserve, it’s well sign-posted, making it easy to find.
Free parking is available at the Department of Conservation car park, just above the main beach. Toilets and showers are located in the car park.
Please note: If travelling to Goat Island Marine Reserve from Auckland during a public holiday or busy weekend, please allow plenty of extra time for traffic and parking. If you are running late, we will do our best to accommodate you, but please note: We do not provide refunds for missed bookings and cannot guarantee a seat on another tour during peak times.
No car? No problem.
You can book a bus here that will get you from Auckland’s CBD right to Goat Island marine reserve. This service runs every day and will get you to the beach in perfect time for a 12 or 1 pm tour.
The Glass Bottom Boat and Kayak & Snorkel Hire are located on the beach, at Goat Island Marine Reserve, Goat Island Road, Leigh.
Please check in with our beach team to receive your boat ticket – you must have a ticket to board the boat.
The Glass Bottom Boat departs from the beach at Goat Island Marine Reserve. Our easy access ramp, makes it possible for you to stay dry, while safely boarding the boat.
Home stay bunk-style accommodation is available. Please call for availability.
